From pricing and payments to licensing, insurance, and service standards, this page outlines how we do business and what you can count on every time you hire us.

How Our Pricing Works
Every job is unique, but our approach is always the same: straightforward, flexible, and respectful of your budget.
Free Estimates: We provide clear estimates before any work begins.
Hourly Rate: Our standard rate is $50 per hour, billed in half-hour increments after the first hour.
Minimum Service Call: A flat $75 fee covers the first hour of labor within the Des Moines Metro area.
Materials: Customers cover the cost of materials used in their project. You may purchase your own materials if approved before the job begins.
Travel: Jobs within the Des Moines Metro include travel time; small mileage fees may apply for areas beyond.
Minimum Service Call
Every visit includes:
One hour of labor
Basic tools and common supplies (screws, anchors, sealant, etc.)
Local travel and site setup
If a job takes less than one hour, the minimum charge still applies — it helps cover travel and preparation time so we can keep service affordable for everyone.
What’s Included
All quoted labor includes:
Professional work and attention to detail
Cleanup of the workspace after completion
Basic consumables (fasteners, caulk, tape, etc.)
Removal of small amounts of debris
What’s Not Included
Some items fall outside standard labor pricing:
Major materials or specialty parts
Paint, lumber, fixtures, or large-scale disposal
Permit fees or licensed trade work (plumbing/electrical beyond handyman scope)
If a job requires something extra, we’ll let you know before we begin.
Cancellations, Deposits, Estimates, & Scheduling
We believe good planning makes for good work.
Estimates are provided digitally or in writing for all jobs free of charge unless specified otherwise.
Larger projects may require a small deposit to cover material orders.
Cancellations and reschedules are always allowed — we just ask for notice.
Frequent short-notice cancellations may affect future scheduling availability.
Discounts & Promotions
We keep discounts simple and meaningful:
New Customers: 5 % off your first completed job
Referral Rewards: 5 % off your next job after your referral completes their first job
Seasonal Offers: Occasionally announced on our website or social media
Discounts apply to labor only and cannot be combined unless noted otherwise.
Licensing & Insurance
Wyco Repairs operates in compliance with local and state regulations applicable to handyman services.
We maintain general liability insurance coverage to protect our customers and our team while work is performed on-site. Proof of insurance is available in Certificates & Credentials located in the footer.
Payment & Invoicing
Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise arranged in writing
Accepted methods: cash, cashapp, or credit/debit card(coming soon)
Receipts and invoices available for every job
Invoices not paid within 7 days of the completion date may incur a late fee of $25 or 5% of the balance, whichever is greater.
Scope of Work
We perform general handyman, repair, and maintenance services for residential and small commercial properties. This includes non-structural work such as:
Fixture and hardware replacement
Basic carpentry and drywall repair
Door, window, and trim installation
Appliance hookup and minor plumbing or electrical fixes within code limitations
We do not perform large-scale construction, major electrical rewiring, roofing, or HVAC system installation beyond maintenance or replacement of small components.
Disclaimer
Regulations vary by city and county. Customers are responsible for obtaining necessary permits for larger projects unless otherwise arranged in writing.
Service Area
Wyco Repairs proudly serves the Des Moines Metro area, including Johnston, Urbandale, Clive, Ankeny, and surrounding communities in central Iowa.
Warranty Coverage
Wyco Repairs offers a 14-day limited labor warranty on all completed repair services.
 If a problem arises within 14 days of the completion date, and it is clearly not caused by customer misuse, alteration, or neglect, Wyco Repairs will return to the site once at no additional labor charge to address the issue.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
Problems caused by customer damage, misuse, or third-party interference.
Issues beyond the originally performed scope of work.
Materials or parts not supplied by Wyco Repairs (covered by their own manufacturer warranties).
Disputes
If you believe an invoice is incorrect, please contact sk@wycorepairs.com within 5 business days of receipt so we can resolve the issue quickly and fairly.
